Talk foreign to me

If you are reading this I suppose you are a language enthusiast just like me. You wanna learn languages, speak dialects and you fancy different accents. Let me guess, British accent is your favorite, innit? If the only problem you are having is that you're confused about taking this fascination of yours to the next level, this is the right place you've come to.

Learning any language could be an abstract act but is so simple if done right. Joining any class and attending it with full concentration could be your first step or rather an option(Languages can be self-learned too 🤫 ). To get a clearer picture, fixing a goal can be done. By this, I mean setting a level for your language skill. For eg, If you are learning a language to go for a short trip to a particular place, basic conversations are your goal, if settling abroad or studying in a nation with a different tongue is your plan, in-depth vocabulary should be your goal and if you are just learning any language as a hobby, it is all up to you :)

Your next step in learning a language could be finding the best style to grasp the vocab. Flashcards, repetition, and word-to-word translation to your mother tongue are a few examples. Using them all or making a combination that best suits you should position you. Another technique to get familiar with the dialect and pronunciation is to engage with the media of the particular language.

Connecting to a native speaker of your target language could be difficult but could be the most convenient way. Conversing with a native speaker connects you to the culture, real pronunciations, the way the original word pronunciation has evolved, and the current trends in the dialect of the lingo.

Once you start speaking a little of your dream language keeping up with the vocab becomes a difficult job for any bilingual. For this, apps like Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, Babbel, LiveMocha, etc. could be very useful. Most of these are free platforms and are best to maintain your connect with the language.

In conclusion, following the right steps, identifying the right style of learning and maintaining the connection with the language. Language learning can be cakewalk to the devout.

In the next blog we'll talk about Deutsch: the easiest language to learn for English speakers. Till then tschüss!
